The building grades in India are certified by BOMA association. BOMA is nothing but Building Owners and Management Association.
According to BOMA, each office building is analyzed and categorized as A,B and C by the building strength and desirable areas where it is present.
Class A buildings- Their building construction is modern, with good infrastructure, present at the centre of the city, The buildings are attracted by everyone with full facilities. Hence the rent of the buildings are also high.
Class B buildings- These buildings are recently constructed, considered to be little older buildings, proper maintenance is required, located not exactly at the centre of the city, moderate rents are collected for these types of buildings
Class C buildings- These buildings are very very older ones. Requires high maintenance , not located at the heart of the city, The area is undesirable with lesser facilities, the rents of these types are buildings are very low. Lot of renovation work is needed for this type of buildings.
