• A ‘cathode-ray tube’ is one of the type of display screen in the vacuum tube form. A CRT can ‘display images’ through ‘video signals’.
• The vacuum tube displays image when an ‘electron beam’ bombarded from an electron gun strikes the phosphorescent surface.
• The ‘cathode ray tube’ initially modifies and accelerates and then deflects the electron beam on to the screen.
• The images produced on the CRT screen are of different types according to the device.
• Like in “oscilloscopes”, the images are in the waveforms; in TV screen and computer monitor, they are in picture form.
