In federal system there are different levels having distributed works. The concentration of power is not in the hand of a single person. India works on federal principle
In unitary system all the power rests with the central govt. There is decision making power given to state.

The federal system is a form of government in which powers are decentralized and the different different organs of the Government have own power and all the powers are decentralized........
In unitary system all the powers are at the hand of Central Government and not any powers are at the head of state government ....
India works under the principle of federal system...........
