Describe a method for refining nickel.

Answer:

Nickel is refined by monds process . In this process nickel is heated in the presence of carbon monoxide to form nickel tetracarbonyl which is volatile complex . Then the obtained nickel is tetracarbonyl is decomposed by subjecting it in higher tempreture (450- 470k) to obtain pure nickel metal
