Answer:

Before moving on towards area of sector of a circle, let's first of all understand the basic meaning of a sector.

Sector of a circle:

The portion enclosed within two radii of a circle is termed as sector of a circle.

There are two types of sectors. They are:

1. Minor sector:

The smaller area enclosed within two radii of a circle is termed as minor sector. It is simply called as sector.

2. Major sector:

The larger area enclosed within two radii of a circle is termed as major sector.

Now, let's talk about the area of sector of a circle.

Area of sector:

To find out the area of minor sector (simply as sector), we can use the following formula:

 \boxed{\pink{\mathsf{area\:of\:sector = \frac{\theta}{360°} \times \pi r^2}}}

To find out the area of major sector, we can simply use the following formula:

Area of major sector = area of circle - area of minor sector (simply sector)
