Hi friend

Description of amphoteric character of water

The species which has the tendency to act as both acid and base is described as amphoteric

One of the two water molecules acts as an Bronsted-Lowry acid and donates a proton to the other water molecule, which subsequently acts as a Bronsted-Lowry base.

Hope this help you

Answer:

Amphoterism means the the ability to react with both acids and bases . water is amphoteric as it can react with both acids and bases .

for eg:

HCl + H2O Gives hydronium ions with Cl ions

NaOH reacts with water to form Na ions and OH ions
