Take a beaker containing water and mix mud in it. Prepare a mixture of mud and water . Keep it undisturbed for sometime. Observation:- You will find that the mud particles have settled to the bottom of the beaker and there is a separate layer of mud and water. Now pour the clear liquid into another beaker.
