The Activity goes as follows :-

Take a petridish and pour some solid Ammonium Chloride in it.

Prepare a burner and place a wire gauge over it.

Take a funnel and cover the narrow end with a thick cotton so that air cannot get out of it.

Now,

Put the petridish over the burner and place the inverted funnel over it and let it heat up.

After heating we will observe a smoky environment inside the funnel.

Turn off the burner and let the system cool down.

After cooling we will observe that some solid substances are present in the neck of the burner while there is no sign of any liquid inside the burner.

This means that the solid AlCl3 taken initially got converted into gas directly on heating and again got converted into solid AlCl3 in cooling.

This is a great example indicating Sublimation .
