AIM: To show that rate of evaporation increases with surface area.
MATERIALS REQUIRED: One drinking glass, one plate, water and a sunny day.
PROCEDURE:
1)Take one glass and one plate. Pour equal amount of water in both.
2) Take both of them outside and wait for 20-30 min.
3) Take them in and measure the amount of water in both the containers.
OBSERVATION: We can observe that there is less water in the plate than in the glass. i.e More evaporation occurred on the plate than in the glass.
CONCLUSION: Rate of evaporation increases with surface area.

take two wet cloths
now hang them to dry bt spread only one cloth
u would notice that the cloth that was spread will dry faster as compared to another this is because it has larger surface area then the other.
this shows that increase in surface area increases the rate of evapiration
