Describe an activity to show the Electrolysis of water

a. Why are a few drops of concentrated sulphuric acid added to water

before electrolysis?

b. Represent the electrolysis in the form of a balanced chemical equation.

c. Why is the amount of gas collected in one of the test tubes in

electrolysis of water double the amount collected in the other? Name

this gas.

d. Draw a labelled diagram of the same.​
