Resistance of a metallic conductor directly depend upon straight length of the wire say L.

Inversely proportional to area of cross section 1/A. Nature of the metal used.

So, Resistance R=Ρx L/A. If we consider an electric circuit comprising a battery,Ammmeter and conductor wire of different material and correctional area then we shall be able to proof this phenomena.

The diagram is attached herewith.

Anichromewire of length L and a plug key.

At point plugging the key the current can flow an measured by Ammeter.

Now let us replace the nichrome wire by another nichrome wire of identical thickness but double the length that is 2 L and measure the current.

Now let us replace the wire with higher correctional area and note down the current through the circuit.

Now let us replace nichrome with copper wire.

Of same length and same area of cross section. Let us note the current through ammeter.
