For the experiment, we require an ice cube and a laboratory thermometer.

Step 1: Place the ice cube in room temperature and keep the thermometer over it.

Step 2: Mark the readings till the whole cube transforms into water.

Observations - You would notice that the temperature remains same during the whole process and this is called latent heat. The cube absorbs heat and the kinetic energy of the molecules rise making it liquid.
