The Enclosure Movement to increase foodgrain had impacted the lives of poor in various ways
(i) The enclosure movement did not allow the poor to collect firewood, fruits and berries or graze their cattle.
(ii) This movement also caused large scale displacement of poor and rendered them homeless.
(iii) Being deprived of the customary work, they lost their livelihood. More worry was that they could not find any secure work.
(iv) To increase their profit landowners, appointed the
labourers only during harvest period. Work became uncertain, income became unstable for the poor for a large part of the year.
