This is started because of some reasons-

• The peasants refused to pay taxes.
• Forest people violated forest laws.

These demands were declined by the british government.

Then Mahatma Gandhi started his famous Salt March (Dandi March) started from his ashram in Sabarmati to the Gujarati coastal town of Dandi. and started boiling the sea water and makes salt by totally violated the laws.
