Alluvial Soil is considered as the most fertile soil of all other soils. Alluvial Soil is commonly found in the northern plains of India. Alluvial soil contains Silt ,clay and sand. Alluvial Soil contains a huge amount of potash, phosphoric acid and lime.

1) Alluvial soil as a whole is very fertile

(2) These soils contain adequate proportion of Potash, Lime and Phosphoric acid.

(3) Silk, clay, gravel and sand the mainconstituents of alluvial soil.

(4) It is commonly found in riverbed and flood plains.

(5) According to age, thealluvial soil is classified as Bangar (oldalluvial) and Khadar (new alluvial).
