1.racemose:the flowers are arranged laterally in acropetal manner i.e. younger flowers are present toward apic and older flowers toward base

2.cymose:flowers are arranged in basipetal manner i.e. yonger flowers are present toward base and older toward apic

hypanthodium

CYATHIUM:-

. cyathium is a special type of INFLORESCENCES which looks like a cup

. the cup is formed by the union of involurce of bracts.

. inside the cup naked stalked and unisexual flowers are arranged in a cymose manner.

in the centre of the cup a single female flower with tri carpellary ovary is present.

the male flowers are arranged in a monochasial pattern around the female flower.

ex:-members of family euphorbiaceae.

HYPANTHODIUM :-

. hypanthodium is a fruit like INFLORESCENCES here the peduncle is modified into a deep cup like fleshy structure.

. many sessileunisexual flowers are arranged irregular inside the cup.

. male flowers are located near the opening female flowers at the bottom and sterile female flowers (gall flowers)are between them
