Mean is the sum of all data divided by the number of data given.
For class 10 the formula is
a+ fiui/fi*h

for smaller classes it is
fixi/fi
It has a disadvantage that extreme values make great changes to the answer

Average or Mean :

An average is a single number that represents the central value of a set of data. Of course, an average indicates the quality of the given data.

An average of the given data is calculated by adding them together and dividing the sum by the number of data.

 \mathsf{i.e. \: Average = \frac{Total \: sum \: of \: data} {Number \: of \: data}}

If x is used to represent the data and n is used to represent the number of data, then,

 \mathsf{Average = \frac{ Σx}{n }}

Here, the symbol 'Σ' means summation of whole data.
