Binya's appearence was just like the other village girls as she was from a very poor family . But when she got the blue umbrella , it totally changed her appearance .

Binya was a girl who belonged to the mountains, to the part of Himalayas known as Garwhal. She was a well-built girl or otherwise strappy for a girl. Her   complexion was fair, she had rosy cheeks with dark eyes and black hair tied in a pigtail. She wore pretty glass bangles on her wrists and a necklace of glass beads. From the necklace hung a leopard's claw. It was a lucky charm for Binya as it was meant to keep away fear and evil spirits and in return give courage. This was the appearance of the girl Binya from Blue Umbrella.
