The Brahmaputra is an international river. It emerges from the Himalayas and flows as the Tsangpo across the Tibetan plateau. Then it enters Arunachal Pradesh assuming the name of Siang or Dihang. The Brahmaputra is the soul of Assam. It is also known as Luit or Bor luit or Burha luit. Then it enters Bangladesh to meet the other great Indian river Ganga. Finally it plunges into the Bay of Bangal. Total length is 2880km. In China 1625 km, in India 918 km, in Bangladesh 337 km.
