The following are the three intercellular junctions of Epithelium tissues...
These provide both structural and functional links between individual cells
1. Tight junctions....
Checks the leakage of substances
2. Adhering junctions ...
also called as Desmosomes
Cement neighbouring cells
3..Gap junctions...
facilitates communication between cells
Hope this helps uu

Three types of intercellular junctions are present in epithelial tissues;
Occluding junctions also known as zonula occludens or tight junctions. Two cells fuse together almost around the entire perimeter of each cell creating continuous belt like junctions known as a tighter occluding junction
Adhering junctions also known as zonula adherens. Epithelial cells are held in place by strong anchoring or adhering junctions.
Desmosomes also known as macula adherens. They connect two cells together. Hemidesmosomes lie on the basal membrane to help the cells to stick to the underlying basal lamina.
