Answer:

Tropical evergreen forests are dense, multi-layered, and harbour many types of plants and animals. These forests are found in the areas receiving heavy rainfall (more than 200 cm annual rainfall). They are very dense. Even the sunlight does not reach the ground.

Explanation:

The greatest single area of tropical evergreen forest is the Amazon Basin, in the northern half of South America. Similar forests are found through the isthmus of Panama and into southern Mexico, and they cover the Congo Basin in equatorial Africa and the southern fringe of West Africa.

Explanation:

Tropicalforests are characterized by the greatest diversity of species. They occur near the equator. One of the major characteristics of tropical forests is theirdistinct seasonality: winter is absent, and only two seasons are present (rainyand dry). The length of daylight is 12 hours and varies little.

(a) Features:

1) These forests appear green throughout the year and have heavy rainfall of more than 200 cm with a short dry season.

2) The trees reach great heights up to 60 metres or even above.

3) Since the region is warm and wet throughout the year, it has an abundant vegetation of all kinds – trees, shrubs, and creepers.
