Answer:

  • At first, a thick layer of fleece and a thin layer of skin is removed either manually with a large razor or with the help of shearing machine.
  • Then, the sheared wool is washed with detergent in large tanks to remove dirt, grease and sweat. Then thay are treated with acid and dried by low heating.
  • After that, the wool is sorted according to its texture.
  • Then, small fluffy fibres called burrs are removed from the fleece.
  • The fibre is dyed in diffrent colours.
  • At last, they are straightened, combed and rolled into yarn. Longer ones are knitted to sweaters and shawls etc. while the shorter ones are woven into blankets and carpets etc.
