Gases have more kinetic energy than liquids. Liquids have more kinetic energy than solids. When a substance increases in temperature, heat is being added, and its particles are gaining kinetic energy. Because of their close proximity to one another, liquid and solid particles experience intermolecular forces

Kinetic theory of liquid:-
1) Intermolecular space in liquid is less than gas and more than solid.
2) Intermolecular force in liquid is more than gas and less than solid.
3)Energy in the molecules of liquid is more than solid and less than gas. So, the molecules of liquid are not bounded in the field of attraction of other molecules.
4)In fulid, position of molecules are not fixed.
5)The volume of liquid is fixed but its shape is not fixed.
