Classification of industries on the basis of raw material used:
☆ mineral based
☆ agro based
☆ pastoral based
☆ forest based
☆ marine based
✿Mineral based: these are the industries which depend on bulky material such as iron. the industries like- cement industry and steel industry use these raw materials. They are used in making roads, buildings et cetera.
✿agro based: these industries depend on the agricultural raw materials such as sugar is made from sugarcane, jam and juice from fruits et cetera they may involve direct use of raw materials such as milk, vegetables, fruits etc.
✿pastoral based: people totally depend on animals for milk, leather, wool etc. these animals are livestocks. such as sheep, cattle etc.
✿forest based:people usually use forest based materials for medicinal purposes and food.people also work in industries which make valuable products using gum, rubber, resin etc.
✿marine industries: these industries use the raw materials mainly fishes and aquatic plants. many people like eating sea food.
