Calpurnia, Caesar’s wife dreamt a dream the night before Caesar’s assassination. She had an instinctive foreboding that the dream presaged danger to Caesar’s life. She saw in her dream that Caesar’s statue, had hundred holes; and blood flowed from these spouts like fountain. Many lusty Romans came smiling, and bathed their hands in it. She believed this dream to be a warning from heaven. So, next morning she begged Caesar not to go to Senate House.

Calpurnia is Caesar’s wife. Her dream disturbs her greatly because it portrays grave danger for Caesar. In her dream, she sees Caesar’s statue with blood pouring out from everywhere around it like a fountain. She also sees lusty Romans with wicked smiles enjoying washing their hands in the blood.

However, Caesar finds her dreams meaningless and says that he is not a coward to allow fear overwhelm him. He adds that her dreams are unfounded. So, he refuses to her pleas to sit at home and not step outside.
