Hello !

CELL ENVELOPE OF PROKARYOTIC CELL

Prokaryotic cells have a chemically complex cell envelope which consists of a tightly bound 3 layered structure.

i.e. Outermost glycolysis followed by cell wall and then plasma memberane.

A Specialised structure mesosome is formed by the extension of plasma memberane into the cell.

Mesosome helps in cell wall formation.

DNA replication and distribution to daughter cells respiration, secretion process to increase surface area of plasma memberane and enzymatic content.

Hope this Help's

Thank You !

Cell envelope of prokaryotic cells.

It is the outer most layer of the cell

It is the combination of cell wall and cell membrane.

The main function of cell envelope :

==> Give shape and size to the cell

==> Giving differentiate to the cell.

==> Cell envelope protects the organisms from external environment.
