describe chlor alkali process with balance chemical equation name the type of reaction occurred when x is treated with dilute HCl write the chemical equation
sahilkhan7:
The chloralkali process (also chlor-alkali and chlor alkali) is an industrial process for the electrolysis of sodium chloride. It is the technology used to produce chlorine and sodium hydroxide (lye/caustic soda), which are commodity chemicals required by industry. 35 million tons of chlorine were prepared by this process in 1987.[1] Industrial scale production began in 1892.

When electricity is pass through aqueous solution of NaCl it decomposes to form sodium hydroxide, hydrogen gas, chlorine this process is called chlor alkali process
2Nacl+2H2O--2NaOH+cl2+H2
Neutralisation reaction occur when x react with Hcl
NaOH+hcl--Nacl+h2o
