For example, an american engineer might go to work in Dubai for an aeronautics project. This engineer might have to work under SI or metric units, but if the person forgets about this and accidentally does his or her work under the imperial system, that individual’s data, measurements, and calculations would all have to be converted after the fact. This would become a burden and cost that individual (and possibly others) an unnecessary amount of time to correct and re-verify.
