The blood comes twice in the heart in each cycle this is known as double circulation.In first cycle deoxygenated blood enter in right atrium through vena cava , it relax and when it contracts the blood is pumped to right ventricle it relax and when it contacts the blood is pumped to the lungs through pulmonary artery.In the second cycle the oxygenated blood enters in left atrium through pulmonary vein it relax and when it contracts the blood is pumped to left ventricle it relax and when it contracts the blood is pumped to rest of the body through aorta.double circulation is necessary to maintain body temperature . We have 4 chambered heart to maintain body temperature . We are warm blooded animals.
