MRS PECKLETIDE'S HUNT FOR TIGER

Mrs Peckletide's reason for shooting a tiger was her jealousy of Loona Bomberton who had killed a tiger and gained fame.

Loon a had travelled across the African jungle in the hunt of a tiger which she eventually hunted down.

This was a rare achievement and thus made her famous.

Mrs Peckletide envied Loona and she also wanted to kill a tiger and come with a skin in order to out do Loona.

This made her to use corrupt ways of gaining fame by planning to shoot an ill old tiger which did not die of the bullet but of the shock from the sound of the gunshot.

The bullet instead killed a goat which had been placed there as a bait.

PREPARATIONS FOR THE HUNT

1.) She announced a reward for a thousand rupees to anyone who would organize for a vulnerable tiger which was easy to shoot.

- The villages determined to get the reward, organized for an ill, old tiger and restricted it to the jungle.

2.) Goats were left in the jungle to act as its food since it was restricted to Rama in in the jungle. Children were also pit at strategic positions to guard the jungle thus preventing it from going away.

3.) A platform was raised from where Mrs Peckletide could shoot at the tiger easily.

4.) A goat that was a bait was tied at a perfect spot for the tiger.

5.) A paid companion Miss Mebin was to accompany Mrs Peckletide on the day of shooting.

Thus prepations helped Mrs Peckletide to achieve her mission.
