Answer:

The farmers in the former magnificent states of Rajasthan was underneath the weight of double extortion of native feudalism and British imperialism.

Beginning with 1920, the peasants were in revolt against their horrible conditions of life. The peasantry in Rajasthan had to pay a large number of lag-bags, customs duties and also perform beggar (forced labor) in addition to paying heavy land-revenue which was half of the gross produce.

1. The first phase between 1897 to 1915 was noticeable by a spontaneous movement that was promoted by the local leadership.

2. The second phase between 1915 to 1923 saw a high in the awareness of the peasant class and the movement was led by matured and trained leaders of the national level.

3. The third phase saw a decrease in the movement as guidance was lost due to dissimilarity in opinion and the peasant's reluctance to capitulate their lands indefinitely.
