Helen felt abundant love for nature as her childhood was spent in gardens filled with distinctive fragrances, that she could distinguish between quite easily.
She was connected to the nature.
When she tried to climb up a tree it did give her a fear that she struggled with for a bit but was able to get over it in time.

Helen's love for nature was all due to her teacher "Anne Sullivan" who guided and encouraged her in having an emotional connection towards nature all along her life. Her teacher concentrated more on teaching her about the beauty of nature, instead of her academic subjects.
Her love for nature never affected after having an unpleasant experience with its ghastly face but she took some time to get over it. Though nature fascinated and comforted Helen, it also terrified her.
She learned about the unpredictability of nature when she "climbed a tree" once with full of fear in her heart.
