Climate plays a very important role in influencing
the vegetation of any region. An area with high temperature and high humidity
supports evergreen forest, while an area with high temperature and low humidity supports thorny bushes.
Areas experiencing heavy rainfall have tropical rain forests. Forests appear to be green throughout the year. Western Ghats, island groups of Andaman and Nicobar islands are examples of tropical rain forests. On he other hand, regions which experience less rainfall have thorny shrub forests like the semi-arid regions of Gujarat, Rajasthan etc.
