• On 30 Jan 1933, President Hindenburg offered the Chancellorship to Hitler.Having aquired power , Hitler set out to dismantle the structures of democratic rule.

• The Fire Decree of 1933 suspended civic rights like freedom of speech,press, and assembly that had been guaranteed by the weimar republic.
• Then started the repression of communists which was too severe.
• On 3 march 1933, Enabling act was passed which established Hitler's dictaorship in germany. It gave Hitler all powers to sideline parliament and rule by decreem.
• all political [aries and trade unions were banned except the Nazi Party and its affiliates.
• The state established complete control over the economy, media, army and judiciary.
• Special Surveillance and security forces were created to control and order society in ways that Nazis wantd.
• apart from the existing regular  police the state included SA(Storm Troopers),SS(the protection squads),criminal police and SD(security service).
• it was the extra-constitutional powers of these forces which made nazi state the most dreaded criminal state.
