the geographical features of India has promoted unity and homeogeneity Unity in Indian society in the following ways

different physical features have made different regions depend on each other


the land communication with Central Asia, China, but has been possible because of the passes that are located in the high altitude


the mountain wall on the north and the seas on the south provide India a partially unclosed character


India has been in contact with the various countries through land and sea route

The presence of Himalayas is the North act as a barrier to the south-west monsoon in summer and precipitates heavy rain on the country. The standard meridian of India has enabled uniformity in the time for the entire country. Rivers and its tributaries of various states in India meeting irrigation and water needs, bringing about cooperation. Many festivals of India which are associated with agriculture and  monsoon also fostered unity among Indians.
