Polling is not done on election day itself.
Steps that follow are:
1. A voter can vote in his near voting booth.
2. A EC man ensures and sits near the EVM area to check if fair voting is carried.
3. The EVM notes the votes and stores in its memory
4. It requires som days to count all votes and
5. on the day of exit poll results are declared.
