After the government had taken over the Forests by allowing the Forest departments to manage the forests, many changes have occurred to the natural habitats and ecological systems.
Since the forest officials have taken over the forests, the tribals living in the forests have been evacuated. This has caused the tribals to lose their natural habitats and occupation. They have been moved to different places which makes their adaptation difficult.
Also, the forest dwellers have been restricted from using the forest products. Most of the forest dwellers are tribals and they use the natural products of the forests to collect fuel, fodder, timber, wood, etc. for their occupational needs. However, this has been restricted by the officials and has caused adverse effects on the forest dwellers.
Since the corruption has increased, illegal exports of many valuable forest products like timber, sandalwood, sapwood, etc, along with illegal poaching of animals has increased which has damaged the natural ecosystems of the forests adversely.
