Northern Plains are also known as gangetic plains. this these Plains are very fertile due to the presence of Alluvial soil came down from high altitude deposited by the Ganga River and its tributaries on the banks. Plant essential vitamins and minerals are brought down by the rivers by breaking rocks. For example Uttar Pradesh is largest sugarcane producing state.
