We can make the circuit by connecting cells in parallel or in series . So when a cell is connected in series the positive terminal of one cell should be connected to the negative teminal of the other cell when you complete connecting cells you should have positive terminal at one end and negative terminal at the other. To connect cells in parallel the positive terminal are connected together and the negative terminal are connected together
