The different methods of water harvesting are:-
=> Surface runoff where aquifers are installed to catch rain water
=>Rooftop rain water harvesting which is installed on the roof which comes down to the ground and is stored there.

As far as I know

There are three primary methods of rainwater harvesting-----

1. ROOFTOPS - THE WATER DURING RAINFALL FLOWS THROUGH THE SLANTING ROOFTOPS AND PERCOLATES DOWNWARDS AND GETS COLLECTED IN WATER TANKS...

2. CHECK DAMS - PERENNIAL RIVERS HAVE WATER IN THEM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR . THIS WATER IS COLLECTED THROUGH DAMS AND USED ALL YEAR LONG FOR IRRIGATION AND OTHER PURPOSE. MOREOVER RAINWATER ALSO GETS COLLECTED

3. CATCHMENTS - I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT TO BE HONEST
