Answer:

Historically, India has been a feudal system where one ruler fought another for supremacy . No way one segment of kingdom have love for another, with time and more conquests of the subcontinent people became more fragmented and developed their own customs and way of life and one who cannot fit into another was considered an outsider. Things began to change when the Mughals and later the British began to discriminate the locals based on religion and color of the skin. People began to feel some oneness for a common cause because they were subjected to same fate by their oppressors. But now that the country is free people do not see each other as equals and began to explore differences rather than a common thread that binds all Indians together, and so there is an outward migration of some Indians who see themselves as different by virtue of their wealth or family status. Mr Modi has tried to bring back that old commonness among people as one nation and he has tried to inculcate that feeling all Indians are together in this experiment in democracy and each has a role to play for the benefit of the country.

Hope it helps
