describe lock and key method for engymes
Answers
Enzymes have some active sites which have specific shape and specific type of substrate build on these active sites this is same as a specific key for a specific lock.
there are number of cavities present on the surface of colloidal particles of enzymes. these cavity of characteristics shape and possessive active group. these are actually the active centres on the surface of engyme particles. the substrate been to active site like a key fit into a lock and phone enzyme substrate complex. Chemical reaction take place that enzyme converts into the product and then make it free from another reaction.

➡️The lock and key hypothesis states that the substrate fits perfectly into the enzyme, like a lock and a key would.
➡️This is in contrast with the induced fit hypothesis, which states that both the substrate and the enzyme will deform a little to take on a shape that allows the enzyme to bind the substrate
