The NREGA or National Rural Employment guarantee act was inaugurated by the president of our country in the year 2005 but it came into existence in the year 2006
Its name changed from NREGA to MGNREGA
The main features of MGNREGA are:
1)It provides 100 days employment to the unemployed people but nowadays 150 in drought prone areas
2) If the government fails to do so it provides the people daily allowance
3) one third of the jobs are reserved for women
