These are the snags of 5 kingdom of classification:
- Algae are divided into two separate kingdoms on the basis of their cellular composition. For example, unicellular algae belong to kingdom protista whereas multi-cellular belongs to kingdom plantae. They could have been put together.
- There is no separate place for the viruses.
- Organisms which are similar are kept separately.
- Protista has a huge diversity in its group. Hence, different organisms must not be put in one group.
- All organisms other than monera are polyphyletic in origin. It is a shortcoming of 5 kingdom of classification.
