Answer:Apartheid was a system of racial domination set up by the whites of South Africa in the first decade of the twentieth century. On the pretext of racial inferiority, blacks were denied basic human rights for more than three decades. However, under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, the blacks fought for their rights and established a new order of racial equality. For his contribution, he was revered as a symbol of racial reconciliation. He also became the first black president of South Africa.
