In aquatic plant, Vallisneria female flower have long coiled stalk. they reach up to the water level of water surface and expose the stigma.

Male flower inside or submerged in water. The male flower detached from plant and rise up to reach at water surface when they are carried passively but water current.

Some of them finally reach up to the female flower and the stigma. When Anther of the male flower  came in contact with the trifed sticky stigmas, they burst to leave pollen grains on stigma and pollination is performed.

After pollination, the female flower is pulled inside the water by the coiling of its stalk.
