Art in Ancient Civilizations

The importance of it:-

The art of the ancient world reveals a tremendous

amount to modern historians about the culture, values and beliefs of these early civilisations. At the early or ancient time when only few people could able to read and write, art was an important means of communication and a critical way to record important events. The art reflects the society that creates them. Nowhere is this true than the case of ancient Greek. Though their temples, sculptures and pottery, the Greeks incorporated a fundamental principle of their culture: arete. To the Greeks art means excellence and reaching one's full potential. Ancient Greek art emphasized the importance and accomplishments of human beings. Even though much more greek art was meant to honor the gods, those very gods were created in the image of humans. That's why for the happiness of people much art was governed sponsored and intended for public display. However today's art in this generation is quite different in compared with the ancient greeks with lots of skills, thoughts and ideas as artists do today.
