Couples are supposed to register their marriages and also attain a marriage certificate. Any Hindu couple that is not registered, is not acknowledged in the law.
In some areas in India polygamy is not allowed. But some cultures are allowed to bring in second wives only with the consent from the first wife.
Also if a man or woman considers remarrying, according to the constitution, he or must must attain a divorce first.
For one to marry he or she must be above a certain age group. below that one is still considered a minor.
