The Indian government has developed the ICAR (Indian Council or Agricultural Research), animal breeding center and agricultural universities to carry both development and research activities in agriculture.  

Also, the government is investing more in the rural infrastructure to link rural market with international market.

The development of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana  is dedicated to improving the share of agriculture in GDP.
