Individual inequality refers to destructiveness and variations among individuals in their psychological and physical characteristics.
Social inequality refers to a social system where some people are getting opportunity to make use of the resources and others are not. Some people are at a higher level in terms of wealth, education, health and status while others are at the lowest level. Social inequality gets manifested in following forms:
(i) Social stratification (ii) Prejudices
(iii) Stereotypes (iv) Discrimination

Some of the policies have been undertaken by the government of India to address caste inequality.

Explanation:

i. There are certain programs initiated for the SC and STs.

ii. There is reservation of seats  for the people who belong to SC, ST or OBC sections of the society.

iii. There is an act called “Caste Disabilities Act 1850” which prohibits exclusion of any person from getting a right because of his religion or caste.

iv. Dalits have right to receive education in any government school now.

v. Untouchability has been abolished in India with the act, Prevention of Atrocities Act of 1989.
